Therapeutic Massage (Specialized Associate Degree, 18 Months)
The deeper you go into massage therapy, the more you understand all the benefits it can provide to customers — and to you. This degree from LBI gives you the knowledge and the credentials to become a talented, respected massage therapist and maybe even to own your own business.
Here, you'll learn skills that will enable you to work in a spa setting or a medical facility. You'll learn a wide variety of styles and modalities that include Eastern paradigms, sports massage, reflexology, hydrotherapy, energy-based modalities and spa therapies. You'll also become familiar with anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, pathophysiology, customer service, and practice management.
In addition, you'll take hands-on clinical courses developed in conjunction with Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa. You'll also prepare for national certification in massage therapy by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
